HomeDev cannot warrant that PatchCleaner will not find a false positive and delete a required patch which is why we have added the filter feature to filter and recommend using the move function, that way you can always copy the patches back if required. Anything that is in the folder but not on the windows provided list is considered an orphaned file and is tagged to be moved or deleted. PatchCleaner obtains this list of the known msi/msp files and compares that against all the msi/msp files that are found in the "c:\Windows\Installer" directory. The windows operating system holds a list of current installers and patches, that can be accessed via WMI calls, ( Windows Management Instrumentation ). HomeDev has had many queries about how PatchCleaner works and if it can be trusted to do the right thing. If you want to play it safe, just move them to another location, and you can always copy them back. (Recommended) Move them to another location.PatchCleaner identifies these redundant/orphaned files and allows you to either: They are no longer required, but they can take up many gigabytes of data. Over time as your computer is patched and patched again, these installer files become outdated and orphaned. If you blanketly delete all the files in this folder, you will find yourself needing to rebuild windows. Generally these files are important as during updating, patching or uninstalling software it will use the. Which makes some sense, as I preordered the deluxe version on steam, but for whatever reason steam lists DLCs installed as just the deluxe edition pre order bundle key, but does not list the wild hearts karakuri upgrade, and if I go to the steam store it does not show the karakuri upgrade as being in my library, where as the EA plays does show that my addons includes the pre order bonus and karakuri upgrade. When applications are installed and updated on the Windows Operating System a hidden directory "c:\Windows\Installer" is used to store the installer (.msi) files and the patch (.msp) files. So this seems to be some sort of version mismatch issue with steam and EA plays. can't exactly do that when there is no EA plays version installed. Sometimes its told me that there was an error on EAs side, and the link on the EA app for the game is greyed out with the triangle with the ! in it showing that version installed on the device is incorrect and to uninstall the EA plays version. If I try to open the game from the EA app, then it just tries to launch it from steam which then tries close and reopen the EA app again repeating the same issue of doing nothing. ![]() Same issue for me, can't launch the game at all, steam launches the EA App, but then the game never opens. I don't know the mechanism behind the account trick, but it did work for me. Wait for a few seconds and you should be able to see the loading screen of Wild Hearts now. After you uninstall EA App, just to be on the safe side, remember to go to the root folder (mine is at C: Program Files/ Electronic Arts) and delete the whole empty EA folder. I called EA Support and here is the solution that worked for me: Uninstall EA App, Wild Heart and Steam, create a new administrator account and reinstall EA App, Wild Heart and Steam.
